Elementary Algebra and FLCL

You heard me. I'm studying for my soon-coming college assessment and I don't want to get the retard class when it comes to math. Sure, I took Algebra 1 and 2 and Geometry and College Prep/Integrated Math, but... As I said then, I never used it. And much like not using a language for a long time, you tend to forget aspects of it.
So I'm stuck studying Elementary Algebra... Right from the start, so I don't skip a beat. May take me all week to get it all down, but dammit, I'm going to get it right.
And for the second portion of the subject line...
The series emerged in '02, with it's crazy animation styles changing whenever it wants and lasting only 6 episodes. It wasn't canceled, but merely told the story it wished to tell, then ended (as all sweet things should).

I find myself not liking a lot of anime because it turns into garbage half way through every episode, but this one is different. It has a generally confusing, fast-acting storyline that doesn't turn to the perverse as most animes do. The music is always great and the characters are humorous. Thanks, Yōji Enokido, for writing such a funny, dramatic, and interesting storyline involving a little boy that sprouts robots from his head and an alien that rides a Vespa.

I started yet another project (this one, I hope to actually finish!) that involves a giant foam head. That's right, I'm making a full-body bunny costume. I've started to shape the big foam block and have made a glove and the ears. Random components, I know, but I had to start somewhere and it sounded good at the time. Here's my progress so far:

Yep, those are the big floppy ears. The fabric I chose is almost a lavender, but it's really soft and comfortable on the inside as well, so I don't have to worry about a lining. I've additionally picked up a white fuzzy material for, as you see in the picture, the inner ears, belly, feet and tail.

It's going to be very entertaining.

When I was an angsty teen, I watched Happy Tree Friends and Ill Will Press. These cartoons have since been less funny to me, but I picked up a recent episode of HTF that I admired. Both for the fight scene and the animation... And I like the cute panda. Here it is, in it's over-merchandised glory: Books of Fury.

Happy Tree Friends is animated like so many Cartoon Network series.

What happened to the day when people went to libraries and pulled up newspaper articles in those big, lit-up machines? Oh right, computers ate those ages.

Love the Cheap Stuff

I wondered around Wal-Mart today, with no specific element in mind, and found their Valentine's Day cards. A buck, fifty. Couldn't get any better than that. Of course, I have no kids and I'm not a child myself, so what could I do with them? It got me to notice one thing though, there are so many frickin' versions of the power rangers nowadays, I'm surprised kids can keep up! I mean, DinoThunder, Ninja Storm, Time Force, Space Patrol Delta, Lightspeed Rescue... The list goes on! What happened to just the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers?
If I were a kid amidst all the Power Ranger Confusion, I'd pass out when it came down to picking out the yellow ranger from S.P.D or the pink ranger from Wild Force... Good thing they labeled one of Wild Force's movies, "Identity Crisis". That at least lets the kids know where they're going.

The Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers are dust. The red ranger knew it all along... That's why he's a porn star now. That's what I hear, and I saw a video of it once, but no evidence has been found on the web thus far.

Good-bye, Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers. You did my generation well.

I'm watching "A Haunting" on Discovery and it's... Dramatic, to say the least. I just wanted to give a preview of all the silly things I've been up to today... Like Pedigree Girls.
It's darkly funny and it's cruel. But really, it's a look at all those snobby, uptight, rich girls you used to know during school. It's good. *thumbs up*

This one's more cartoony, more animated, and yes, clinically insane. It has a lot of random humor and some cute characters. Like bears with rifles. But it's written well, and drawn like, I like to compare to, JTMH. Onto the dictionary of Catch Phrases!

I've found myself doing Yahoo! Answers now... Like I have answers :p. It's seemingly the thing to do nowadays because every second, someone asks another question. And I see people that are Level 6 and it confuses me. "How can you be a level six?" But I guess they just answer everyone's questions. I'm still a "level 1", as if it means anything. I've asked questions, and I've answered more than I've asked. I guess that's how it goes, because you lose points for asking questions.

My blog is the first thing that pops up when you search for "save tuvok" and it's the one that pops up when you click "I'm Feeling Lucky" in Google. I guess that's something to be proud of. Here's a screen shot:

The Wii has allowed us many things

Like the ability to freely dance, and bowl like you know what you're doing. This segment will be all about Wii accessories, the silly ones, the incredibly cool ones, and the ones we can't stand to play without. Here are my top favs:
The steering wheels:

Though some may find these generic, I think they are well-warranted. What could get you more into mariokart than these little gems?

The sports gear:

I admire these for getting kids into the game, much like the general qualities of the Wii. Now if they had plastic Wii trophies...

The guns:

Good for shooting zombies when they just won't stay away from your precious brain-meats! The second image is the infra-red pistol, for better aiming ;)

The crossbow:

This gadget may seem clunky, but paired with the game, it's a marvelous toy. The only downside is it's not really intended to be used with anything else. Kudos on the design though.

The gloves:

Apparently, these didn't catch on that well. I loved the boxing games on the Wii and wearing the gloves would only make me feel cooler, but look like a total dork.

The BLASTER:

For blasting off zombie heads in a single shot. Or just having a blast blowing up clay disks.

By far...

Because I want to feel like a pirate or Link when I play my games... When I first saw these, they were the reason why I wanted to post about Wii attachments. Fantastic!

Some may find these as trivial, but I think they add fun to the already amazing Wii system.

I'm having Sweeney Todd over for dinner. No, not really. But wouldn't it be awesome? You should visit the official Sweeney Todd movie site, it's got clips and characters and a synopsis of what the movie's all about. I was watching Crybaby the other day and I loved when Johnny Depp was singing with his cell mates and eventually escapes the prison, but only in a shirt and his tighty-whities!! Gotta be one of my favorite Depp moments. But it's hard to compare a shot like that with his performances in From Hell, Sleepy Hollow, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, or, better yet, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. That certainly tops all of his performances (even in Pirates, though that was amazing too). Johnny Depp was just the perfect individual to play the role of Raoul Duke aka Hunter S Thompson in that movie! I've seen clips of Depp's singing parts in the upcoming Sweeney Todd and he does a really good job. I don't think he's sang in a role since Crybaby (may be wrong), but he puts a lot of heart and effort into the words he's singing and it just transforms the mood of anyone watching. It's going to be a spectacular movie.

This is what I do.

I was told this could be an icon. Something I could use on shirts and mugs and hoodies, etc. I find myself lately drained of inspiration. My brain's rotting. Is that supposed to happen after high school when you have not enough money or drive to go to college? When you have no family and all you can do is work and work and work just to survive?
I found out if I keep my thoughts to myself, I can push out something decent onto paper. I should find myself reading more often, but I usually don't. My brain craves information. And I'm not going to get it staring at the computer yet another day.

I've been in serious need of adapting my own drawing style. I've read and watched so many artists create and write (mostly comics. Comic art fascinates me), and I can't get into a groove! Any advice would help. I've set aside a special notebook that's just going to be for sketching... I have two pages so far. I hope to draw in it every day. My hubby's coming home early. Says he wasn't being productive enough and he can make up the time Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday anyway. No biggie. I don't even think we're having a Thanksgiving this year. But that's not really a big deal to me.
Thanksgiving is totally awesome when you have a family that cares. My family is like a zombie apocalypse situation. It's every man for himself and one of us will consider the other when it's no skin off our back. I try to separate myself from them as often as possible.
So I will be celebrating this Thanksgiving playing whatever games I want, doing whatever I want, eating turkey hamburgers and not worrying about a damn thing.
It will be a good day indeed.

Growing Pains

There's nothing that hits home more than a loved one suffering. Especially when you know there's nothing you can do... Well, there is now.
I know a very sweet, good-natured woman that would extend her heart and arms to anyone in need. Unfortunately, she lived hundreds of miles away from us, and we can only see her during the holidays. Every Thanksgiving and Christmas, she would cook everything! The mashed potatoes, fresh cranberry sauce with bits of cranberries in it, a big, juicy turkey, warm rolls, shiny sweet applesauce... You get the picture. She also crafted all sorts of things. She would make us potholders, quilts, hats, booties, whatever you can think of! She is a very talented seamstress. She even made the baby blanket I still have today.
Unfortunately, she suffers, like many, from joint pain. Now she can't enjoy all the crafted and creating like she used to. Her hands have become very arthritic and she additional suffers from carpal tunnel syndrome. She spends most of her days now enjoying what she can with her husband and surviving the cold Pennsylvania winters. The pain gets worse during the cold, so she can't host our holidays any more. She loved that the most, but arthritis pain has taken that away from her.
We still visit, as always. But I've seen it in her expressions and in her eyes just how much her pains are keeping her back.

Illegal immigrants, money, 2008 election... These are current and two are ongoing. I can't find myself being passionate about much any more, but apparently the world is quite passionate about these topics right now. Here's my run-down...
Illegal immigrants should be booted, regardless of anything. Our country relies to heavily on their cheap labor and if we don't kick them out soon, they'll tear away at our insides until our country is no better than any other third-world hellhole out there.
Money is overrated. It has unfortunately become a person's main goal. Sad. Money may make life easier, but it's the source of evil.
And as far as the election goes, I hope some white male gets it. I don't think this country is ready for a change as drastic as an African-American or female president.

Amidst the skyscrapers

I think we need more nature in the world, instead of concrete living. I searched for "garden buildings". None other than the Garden Escape appeared. What a magnificent idea!
The home page gives you samples of what to expect and things they've already accomplished. The site itself is well put together. One thing that especially pleases me is the fact that it is not all in Flash. Flash creates too many complications and can slow browsing down. I'm glad The Garden Escape escaped that one ^.^.
I was first curious to see how The Garden Escape could spruce up the office. The rooms are amazing! The have multiple pictures to choose from, so you get a good idea of what you'd like. The rooms they have on the site have wonderfully large windows and glass doors framed in a nice cherry-colored frame. There's nothing more inspirational than nature. The main thing here is that all the rooms are eco friendly. Some may think that environmentally friendly homes are weaker than your standard rooms and house, but they are not. They carry the same sound, rigid architecture as any of your homes! Included in the price of these wonderful rooms are the following: Secure foundations, electric/data/phone connections, convection heating, electrical sockets, recessed lighting, thermal/acoustic insulation, and beautiful oak flooring. It's really chilly today. And that's something, because Florida is hot and humid all the time, but finally, it's nice.
It's hard to find a nice bomber jacket around here and it seems all the designer labels have skewed the actual style of the bomber/aviator jacket. It makes me sad, 'cause I've already got the aviator hat.
I would like to make jet pilot helmets with walkie talkies inside of them. I'd wear them on my bike rides and it would be amazing.

Lewis Black is doing his bit about airport security in "The End of the Universe". He recorded this right after 9/11. I like in some of his later work when the security guard asks him to open his own bag and he replies with "I can't touch it. Those are the rules..." :p If he were my grandfather, I'd visit all the time. That goes without saying.

Project Projections!

Ever thought about audio visual projectors? I was thinking about projector uses for the home. Now I did have to ponder this for a second because I've only used projectors for official use. But, while browsing around Reflex Ltd's site, I got a few ideas. I remember a time that my work had projectors to show us new things the company was doing via slide shows. They showed them like that since it was attached to a Windows machine. I was thinking, with a project and a nice clean wall, I could watch DVDs like a movie theater in my own home. I don't even have to worry about parts or if things break because Reflex specializes in replacement bulbs, other products, they can configure your video/audio conferencing, anything you would need for your audio/visual needs.
If I were to overall an office with Reflex products, it would change the way we organize as a work community. We could share in one room all the evolution that had taken place, the development of the company, and, if everyone can't make it, we could video conference as if they were there with us! It would additionally save space.
I would certainly like to set up a home projector though. It would be amazing with a nice sound system and the projectors have such clear quality! I would never have to deal with people talking or sticky floors or unnecessary advertisements that I don't want to watch!

Just kidding. So, I was looking in to things I could get people for the holidays. I'm probably going to have to make everything I give, which I believe is a better gift because I put thought and lots of effort into it. With gas prices being over $3 a gallon, why bother going anywhere to buy over-priced meaningless things anyway?
It's weird to me that Christmas is so prominent in NOVEMBER, like Thanksgiving isn't even around. It's just going to be Christmas for the next two months. O.o We'll see about that....

I can't think of a time when people did not go without tooth pain. Growing up I had tooth pain, my friends that need fillings and can't afford them, my brother who's filling fell out! Jamming out to some Radiohead and waiting... Waiting for the Blue Man Group, waiting to make money that I hate, waiting for opportunities, waiting for fun, waiting for the weekend. I'm hoping to post picture of the Gir doll I'm working on before I have to wrap it and send it off to my brother. I know he'll love it. The outside card is going to read "I was the turkey all along!" He'll know, but I don't think he'll expect it to be a little Gir.
I just thought about punching some one in the butt and it made me laugh and threw me off topic. Oh well.

Upcoming Movies!

There are a few great movies coming out soon, one specifically that I'm excited about is The Mist by Stephen King. Stephen King has had many of his novels put into TV series or movies, but with his unmatched story-telling abilities and the advancements in movie-making today, The Mist is certainly going to be a nail-biter.
One thing I gotta hand Stephen King, he likes to keep you in the dark about the identity of the antagonist. He doesn't specifically let you know if it's a demon (spirit or fleshy form), poltergeist, etc. He likes to keep you guessing with suspense and scariness.
I feel as if The Mist combines the stories of the plagues and a satanic entity, keeping the guidelines of the general good and bad of the story.

The Mist portrays the ultimate battle between good and evil. I wouldn't be surprised if the huge insects and demon-like creatures in the trailers weren't actual beings but evil incarnate.
For those of you too anxious to wait until November 21st, the book is already on the shelves (it, too, is labeled "The Mist by Stephen King").

Another night. I've been looking around for part-time jobs, making a Gir doll for my brother's birthday and generally sleeping away the weeks. I posted a dream I had earlier... Thought it was neat. I left out the creepy parts.
How is it that everyone in the world ends up getting sucked in to coke or weed or whatever vice? ... There isn't a moral in the world.

Holidays = Economy boost

Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and with that, comes Black Friday.

Unfortunately for the consumers of the world, everyone is forced to pack into outlet malls, and various stores. It's all just one big pain in the neck.

For the past few years, I've been doing my shopping online, which is awesome cause with a little due diligence you can find a hoard of coupon codes.

These codes will allow you to get various items online at discounted prices, or even with free shipping!

This year, I'll be picking up a new computer from Dell, as I can always find awesome Dell coupon codes.

I'll also need a new desk to go with it, as mine is made out of particle board, and milk crates. So it's off to Office Depot's website to use some of the crazy Office Depot coupons that I've found.

All in all, I think this will be a decent Black Friday.

Too much sleep

It started with a house and so many things in boxes. Our roommate was leaving, for whatever reason. And I had to take care of a child I'd inherited... For whatever reason. She took the kid and sued me (been watching too much court TV). Come to find out, my next door neighbor was Jay Leno. So I moved in with him. Some awkwardness later, an old friend and I went out to a downtown-looking area and were walking around. We turned in to a restaurant. So happens, Robin Williams worked there as a short order cook. But he always got the orders wrong and did silly things. My friend proceeded to go behind the counter and look and move around things, then disappeared into the kitchen, where she started cooking and "making things right". I left.
Later on, at Jay Leno's apartment, it turns out the child I had was his. So after confronting my irate roommate (that sued me), I got the kid back and gave it to Leno. He was ecstatic and crying and happy. I left then.
I met up with good and bad cartoon "ghostie" type characters that no one else could see. Seems I was endowed with some powers to manipulate matter around me. The bad cartoon followed me like a shadow and now I am in an entirely different area. Now I'm trying to fly.
I construct a wire apparatus and tell the bad cartoon to inhabit it. I use the frame like wings and I start flying towards a tower. My friends are there (at least that's the feeling I get from it, I only recognize one of the people). But I'm so inexperienced with flying, I swoop past them 2 or 3 times trying to slow myself down by skidding my heels against the water below and swooping back up at the tower. I eventually get to them, but when I land, my friends are gone. I look in the distance, about 2 blocks away, and seen a few things. First, my friends are drowning in a spout of orange juice, more like the "Ol' Faithful" of orange juice, and they can't move. Second, I see even further, a rocket/bomb like thing that's been lit. How comical.
I start flying towards it, but the bad cartoon suddenly leaves my wire frames, leaving me to fall into the river below. Bullocks.
I start swimming, but the bad cartoon wants to hold me back. I finally get to where my friends are drowning in the OJ, and I carry them out.
I speed over to the rocket/bomb things and I send it (with my awesome powers) into a mirrored image of a building with apartments. For some reason, I know that the mirror image contains bad things, so I send it into a window, into an apartment, in the mirror image and it explodes and kills bad things.
I now turn into a cat, that's all tuckered out, and I go back to Leno's apartment. He accepts me as a stray and I go to sleep next to his kid and dog.

I sat around reading about every page of Beaver and Steve. It's humor is worn out to me since Johnny the Homicidal maniac did it before them :p. Grilled cheese on a nice cool day. It's been a leisurely Sunday (as most Sundays tend to be). My roommate took it upon herself to plant a bunch of flowers and things @ the front of our town house. She's doing a great job and thus, gets a grilled cheese. :)
I've been playing games and making origami stars. Woo hoo. I plan on making 900 stars. It's supposedly good luck.
